B N A Bitumen Emulsion Graded CRS - 1

B N A Bitumen Emulsion Graded CRS - 1

BNA Bitumen Emulsion made up of three basic ingredients which include Bitumen, an emulsifying agent and water. It is a well-known fact that asphalt and water will not mix, except under carefully controlled conditions using highly specialized equipment and chemical additives. Cationic Emulsions which have positively charged ions may be used at ambient temperatures with aggregates, which do not have to be completely dry. Emulsions are less hazardous to use and can be applied in the wider range of conditions and used for many applications including road surfacing.

DESCRIPTION

BNA Bitumen Emulsion made up of three basic ingredients which include Bitumen, an emulsifying agent and water. It is a well-known fact that asphalt and water will not mix, except under carefully controlled conditions using highly specialized equipment and chemical additives. Cationic Emulsions which have positively charged ions may be used at ambient temperatures with aggregates, which do not have to be completely dry. Emulsions are less hazardous to use and can be applied in the wider range of conditions and used for many applications including road surfacing.

APPLICATION

BNA Bitumen Emulsion CRS-1 containing 60% Bitumen, is commonly used for Tack- Coating. This is applied to an underlying surface to aid with the adhesion of the following asphalt layer. Bitumen Emulsion CRS-1 is also used for Fog Sealing, Mist Spraying, Concrete Curing, Grouting, Sealing, Patching, Formation and Sub-base and Surface Dressing. BNA Bitumen Emulsion CRS-1 is cationic rapid setting.

PACKING AND SUPPLY

200 L New steel drums or reconditioned steel drums. Weatherproof packing for flexibility of storage.

STORAGE AND HANDLING

Store in original containers in a cool dry place. Do not leave containers open. Avoid freezing.

Roll the drum number of times for proper mixing before use.

The quality of these products could be optimized by limiting the period of storage to 30 days.

Do not permit the emulsified bitumen to be heated above 85°C. Keep under shade as much as possible. If bitumen emulsions are stored in a bulk tank, slowly mix the contents using an agitator of the tank at least once in two days.

Close tightly barrels or tanks containing bitumen emulsions. Mixing of rainwater or other impurities with bitumen emulsions might cause a complete breakdown of quality of the product.

Always use product in the order of purchase. That is first in first out (FIFO).

Bitumen Emulsions should be stored in completely cleaned drums. Drums which had been used for storing lubricants or thinner are preferable.
